los del camino AND Natty Petrosino

Los del Camino is a group of volunteers founded by Natty Petrosino 30 years ago

“To help, it is not necessary to become part of an institution or to have money. It is enough to love your neighbor.”

NATTY PETROSINO

Los del Camino is a group of volunteers founded by Natty Petrosino in 1993. It does not belong to any political party or religion nor is it formed as a legal entity. It is simply a group of people who have been drawn and inspired not only by the task of service to others but, more importantly, by Natty’s message of love and spirituality.

Until 1999, volunteers from Los del Camino assisted Natty in her work with several important social service projects. One was “Hogar Peregrino San Francisco de Asís”, located in Bahía Blanca, province of Buenos Aires. This was a place where sick, homeless, mentally handicapped, elderly, HIV patients and bedridden people were cared for. It offered shelter to all the homeless who came.

After 1999, guided by the inspiration of Jesus, Natty decided to leave the “Hogar Peregrino” to the Catholic Church, and give herself completely to assisting people who lived in extreme conditions of poverty in Argentina, most of them indigenous communities.

Currently, Los del Camino is led by Juan Francisco Petrosino, Natty’s son, and has a stable group of 15 volunteers, who are committed to continuing the mission started by Natty. They have mainly dedicated themselves to helping the indigenous communities of Los Wichis in the province of Formosa and Los Huarpes in the province of Mendoza. They are working on the completion of an auxiliary school and a kindergarten approved by the government of Formosa for Wichi children in two different areas. 100% of the funds raised in this event will be used for that purpose.
